The Intergalactic Beets Project - 250+ Songs for Games, Movies, & More!

My name is Joey Rodriguez, and I am a musician and artist with over 20 years of experience in film, graphic design, and music production and recording. In March of 2021, I launched The Intergalactic Beets Project, blending my original songs with fictional artists from outer space to create an intergalactic "record label" dedicated to rescuing music from being banned by an evil autocrat. This project has ballooned to nearly 300 songs, from 200 fictional artists across 200 albums. For each album I have also created a unique backstory about its history, as well as an album cover to complete a discography of tasty and otherworldly beats.

I invite you to explore the entire discography on the IBP website to learn more about the project's history and discover some intergalactic art and music. All of my music is available on Spotify, YouTube, Soundcloud, or wherever you stream your tunes.

The goal of this project was always to distribute this music for free to those who might need it for their artistic endeavors (such as games, movies, exhibitions, etc.). I am excited to launch this collection on Itch.io, where everyone can use, remix, and edit it to their heart's content. Currently, the Collection features 284 songs, with new music released every Monday, aiming to reach 300 songs by the end of the year.

In 2021 and 2025, I also presented my art and music at two art exhibitions in Brooklyn, NY, and New Milford, CT, which took the form of intergalactic record stores, thanks to grant assistance from the New York Foundation for the Arts and the New Milford Commission on the Arts. An exhibition at the Avon Free Public Library in October 2024 showcased more art and music, with a new exhibition scheduled to arrive in January 2026 in Kent, CT.

To help you better sort and select the music you like, I have also created a searchable Database where you can filter by length, genre, and even BPM. Songs are also available for download individually through the app, with no sign-up required (you can also listen to them through the app).
